Of Fans and the Anti: HetaliaAlright, this may have swearing in it. Not as bad as the f-bomb, but if you don't like swearing in any form, I suggest you don't read this. Also, if you are offended easily, please don't read this either, Hetalia fan OR anti-fan.

This is a small essay to clear up some statements made by Hetalia fans, and also Hetalia anti-fans. If you have anything to suggest for me to put in this, comment with a common stereotyped of the fandom and/or series itself, why it's wrong, or maybe partly right, and I'll put it in here, also mentioning your username. So, here come the series/fandom stereotypes and explanations!

Exactly where did you get this from? Just because Hetalia is more of a cute manga/anime mentioning war doesn't mean we automatically think the Holocaust is cute, or dare I say it as the weaboos do...kawaii. Personally, I have never met a fan who said that Hetalia changed how they view the Holocaust.

T'is true, my friends. Big eyes AREN'T always a sign of anime. Just because you see someone draw someone with big eyes, it doesn't mean "ZOMG!!1!!!!one!! IT'S SUGOI DESU ANIME!!1!!!!!11!!!eleven"
Yeah...there's a TON of other factors that make it anime. Hard to explain, but go look up anime on Google images/bing images/etc., THAT'S what anime looks like, basically.

originally inspired by Western cartoons like Disney...^^;

I totally agree. Not only does it bug cartoonists who get animetards trying to tell them they don't realize they are drawing anime, but it annoys anime artists too. people who rag on the anime style for having "bad proportions" are entirely hypocritical. I mean, (well drawn, of course) anime actually has quite good proportions besides the stylized facial features. How can they rag on anime being disproportionate but cartoons are just fine?

I wish people would respect all forms of art, anyhow. Or at least know that big eyes aren't just an anime thing. Not to mention that some anime doesn't even have that style.

Exactly.
And what annoys me more is that when a cartoonist draws small eyes and then the weaboo/animetard is like "amg das an evil charrie" JUST because in anime evil characters have small eyes.
As for disproportions, I also agree. It'll annoy me if someone comments on my art and says "AMHG!!!1!!! DAS NAWT DRAWING ANIME RITE U BAKA!!!!!!11!!!!!eleven" JUST because I may accidentally disproportion something in a drawing and I also draw big eyes...

I agree with this stamp. I've noticed that big eyes are pretty-much just as frequent in 'western' animation as they are in anime. Not only that, but there are plenty of anime character that don't have giant eyes.

I just HATE how people think big eyes are anime. Some non-anime artists give their people/animal/etc. drawings big eyes. That does NOT make it anime.
